Iran Quicklime is one of the most historical human-made compounds. Nobody knows when humans first discovered and used Quicklime. Maybe, when ancient people used Limestone rocks as their fireplace. Then, fire heated the Limestone rocks, and the first Quicklime was created.

Quicklime has other common names, same as Burnt LimeLime, or Calcium Oxide. Quicklime is produced by crushed Limestone (calcium carbonate (CaCO3)), which is heated to around 1,100 Degrees Celsius in a Rotary Kiln or Shaft Furnace.

In this action, that named the Calcination Process, Carbon Dioxide (CO2) in Limestone is released, and Calcium Oxide (CaO) remains.

During this process, quality control measures and precision instruments are used to ensure that the quicklime produced is a consistent and quality product. After the calcination process, Quicklime is crushed and milled with different equipment like Jaw CrusherBall MillSolar Mill (Solar Granulator), etc to reach the appropriate and required sizes.

Quicklime Formula

The formula for lime is Ca (OH)2, and the chemical name for lime is calcium oxide.

CaCO3(s)+ Heat → CaO(s)+ CO2(g)

The Shelf Life of Iran Quicklime is Up to 3 months in original un-opened bags which are kept in dry storage. Although, it should be protected from air and rain as quicklime reacts with water. Lime has a high reaction with Co2, H2O, and even humidity. For this reason, Quicklime is called active lime too.
