Iran Dolomite is a widespread mineral for export that is composed of about 15% earth’s crust that can extract from the dolomite rocks. Iran is one of the biggest suppliers and exporters of Dolomite by considering that it has the second-largest dolomite mine in the world.

But in terms of quality and variety, Iran could be the prominent supplier and exporter of Dolomite. The trade on Iran Dolomite is mostly active in Hamedan where the first big mine of Iran dolomite exists. Iranian dolomite exporter uses it inside Iran and also export it to other countries.

Compare to other minerals, Dolomite has different uses, and that is the best justification for all suppliers, exporters, and traders to invest in it.

Iran Dolomite has various usages. The Iran Dolomite exporter offers it as Iran Dolomite crushed rock, raw, calcined dolomite powder, and dolomite sand.

It depends on the Iran dolomite exporters/traders and different use as well as the degree of Iran Dolomite whiteness and purity.

At present, Iran dolomite does not form on the earth’s surface, but miners and suppliers find it in layers. Thus, according to ingredients, Iran dolomite exporters and traders must categorize them that each category is suitable for particular uses.

Iran Dolomite Powder

Iran Dolomite Powder is a carbonate mineral that contains calcium and magnesium carbonate. Iran Dolomite Powder is used in various industries due to its whiteness and purity. Iran Dolomite Powder has less reaction and shows good resistance to acid, making it a mineral in demand in various industries.

Some properties of Iran Dolomite Powder are as follows:

  1. Higher Production rate
  2. Better acid resistance
  3. Increases flow rates because of its higher Bulk Density and Sp. Gravity
  4. Less reactive

Iran Dolomite Uses

Iran Dolomite in construction industries:

The most common use for Iran Dolomite or Iran Dolostone is in the construction industry. Iran Dolomite is crushed for use as a road base material, an aggregate in concrete and asphalt, railroad ballast, or gravel.

Although the Industrial dolomite trader uses the high purity, Construction applies the low purity one.

Its greater hardness makes it a superior construction material. Because of Its lower solubility and more resistance to rain and soil acid, the Iran dolomite exporter and trader has attention to this utility and properties.

Iran Dolomite in Iron and Steelmaking Process:

In Iron and Steelmaking plants, use Iran Dolomite due to its strength and compatibility in the Iron and Steel refining process.

During Iron and Steel production in blast furnaces (BF), Iran Dolomite is added either in the sintering process or as a direct feed in the blast furnaces.

Iran Dolomite addition is made during Iron and Steelmaking to obtain the desired MgO percentage in the Blast Furnace Slag. In the case of sintering, Iran dolomite is crushed up to 3 mm (in the range of 85 % to 90 %) with hammer crushers before mixing. In direct feeding of the blast furnace, lump Iran dolomite (size 10 mm to 30 mm) is used.

In the production of DRI, direct reduced iron by the rotary kiln process, Iran dolomite is used as a desulphurizing agent. Raw Dolomite is used in a size range of 4 mm to 8 mm.

Furthermore, in the steelmaking process, Iran dolomite is used both as a fluxing agent and refractory material. As a fluxing agent, Iran Dolomite is a source of some lime (CaO) and reduces the consumption of Iran calcined lime and Iran Dololime. Also, Iran Dolomite is used to protect the magnesia-carbon lining of the steelmaking vessel.

Other applications of Iran Dolomite include the source of magnesia (MgO), an animal feed additive, and as an ingredient in the production of glassbricks, and ceramics. Moreover, Iran Dolomite, due to its high magnesium content, is used in agriculture commonly.
