White Sodium Bentonite should be incredibly micronized sizes to be used as the most plastic and impermeable common clay material in ceramics & coatings: Ceramic Bentonite
Our ceramic bentonite, based on extremely pure and white clay, could be ideally used as a suspension agent in glazes and porcelain enamels, as well as, as a binder & plasticizer in whitewares for electrical porcelain bodies, floor and wall tiles.
Advantages:
- Our white Sodium Bentonites commercially micro-fine grades (100% minus 325 mesh).
- Its appearance is tasteless and non-odor, inert, inorganic, as well as, non-irritating with soft & slippery texture
- Improve ceramic paste plasticity such as a binder & plasticizer
- Improve “green strength” of ceramic bodies & glazes as a suspending agent.
- Adding bentonite to glazes also imparts better dry strength and similarly, a harder and more durable surface.

Note: High amounts of Bentonite will dramatically cause excessively plastic, slow down the drying rate, turn into crawling during firing, & be too easily cracked and torn.

Using Bentonite in Ceramic industry
Bentonite is colloidal, it is typically finer than ball clay, can have huge surface area and active electrolytic which gives extremely high plasticity. In fact, bentonite can produce ace dry strength without much effect on fired color.
